Felsted International Returners Course
By Aegis UK • September 16, 2020
We love hearing about our member schools’ news. Felsted School came up with a creative solution for returning international students who needed to quarantine.
Following the success of the Felsted International Summer School Online Global Studies and English Language programme, a similar provision was created for a number of Felsted international boarders who were required to isolate when returning from overseas before the term began.
In addition to the returning Felsted students, the programme was also delivered to 10 partner schools around the world, including Millfield School and Dover College in the UK to schools in Kumasi, Ghana and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Over 120 students engaged in live online lessons, which also included inspiring guest speakers and workshops to give each programme an added level of variety. Within their bubbles they were also able to take part in games nights, outdoor sports and yoga to help them familiarise themselves with their surroundings and get to know each other.
Felsted Director of Global Education Daniel Emmerson commented; “Once we had an idea of the number of students who might be required to quarantine upon returning to the UK from overseas we were able to modify our materials from our Online Summer School to create an engaging programme. All our students were highly motivated and determined to learn, which made this a fantastic course to be a part of.”
Felsted International Boarder Mia comments ; “I would 100% recommend this course to any prospective student as it gave me the opportunity to use my academic research skills while developing my discussion skills and connecting with people from all over the world.”
Chaiara from El Mirador Belvedere School in Argentina commented; “The approach taken in the course was excellent. Classes were dynamic and the learning environment was fantastic.”
