New NMS for Boarding Schools live today – Standard 22 Educational Guardians

The updated version of the National Minimum Standards for Boarding Schools is live today: Boarding schools: national minimum standards and sees the addition of Standard 22 on Educational Guardians. AEGIS has been lobbying for clear guidance around educational guardianship for many years and for recognition of AEGIS accredited guardians.

The high standard that AEGIS sets has been recognised by the Department for Education and AEGIS is listed as a useful resource. We also now see the addition of a reference to AEGIS in the footnote of Standard 22.

AEGIS will continue to ensure that the Department for Education understands the important role that AEGIS accredited guardians play in supporting international students during their time of study in the UK.
