Oxford Guardians Passes Gold Standard Re-Accreditation!
We are pleased to announce the Gold Standard re-accreditation of Oxford Guardians. Oxford Guardians was set up in 2009 to support the needs of children and young people studying in the UK in the specific areas of welfare, education and personal development. Their local guardians are often parents and teachers or care providers, with a wealth of experience in looking after international students.
The Lead Inspector reported:
“Oxford Guardians is a caring company who have excellent systems in place to ensure that students receive the best of care whilst studying in the UK. Students are known by their guardians as individuals and supported according to their needs, both pastorally and academically.”
Sarah Bacon, Director of Oxford Guardians gave feedback about the inspection process,
“The inspection process was thorough, supportive, constructive and professionally carried out.
We were given plenty of time at each stage of the AEGIS reaccreditation to review and bring our documents together, and this was important given the demands on the guardianship for supporting returning students with quarantining and testing. AEGIS and the inspectors were in touch with us before and during the process to explain the steps. During inspection all the staff, including the two homestays interviewed, commented on how approachable the inspectors were.
Every company will do things in their own way for their own reasons, and we felt the inspectors took the time to get to know who we are and to understand our practices. For our staff it was a developmental time as we went through the AEGIS criteria and looked at how we met that criteria. In doing this we were able to modify what we did not just to tick a box but to improve our practices and what we offer our students.
I have led schools through Ofsted and know how demanding inspections can be. I can honestly say we are the better for the inspections we have had with AEGIS, and have grown in confidence through the process.”
AEGIS offers the highest level of inspection and accreditation.
