St Mary’s School is the leading independent day and boarding school for girls aged 4-18 in Cambridge.

Located in the heart of the vibrant city of Cambridge, St Mary’s offers an academically rigourous education, in a safe and secure learning environment. The boarding accommodation at Mary Ward House provides comfortable accommodation, with a real family feel.

Our school aims sit at the heart of everything we do.

Developed in partnership with parents, our school aims underpin our approach to education across our Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form and reflect our values as a Mary Ward School.

– To deliver an excellent, challenging and innovative academic education which fosters an independent love of learning, intellectual curiosity and knowledge.
- To provide an aspirational all-round education promoting creativity, enterprise, collaboration; building life-long skills.
- To encourage in each girl a sense of her own worth, talents and aptitudes so that she will realise these with courage and resilience.
- To provide a strong moral and spiritual framework underpinned by the core values of integrity, justice and respect for human dignity.
- To create an environment of love, hope and joy based on Gospel values in which individuals are cherished and genuine relationships are nurtured.
- To develop confident global citizens by instilling a strong sense of responsibility towards others and through charity and service to the local and world-wide community.
-To walk alongside our parents, valuing their role as the first educator of the child.

We offer two-year, five-year and seven-year programmes. We also offer shorter placements of up to a year or one term. Your daughter can choose from the following options:

Pre-GCSE programme

Students can join us in Year 7, Year 8 or Year 9 for a pre-GCSE programme.

GCSE programme

Students can join us for a two-year GCSE programme in Year 10.

A Level programme

Students can join us for a two-year A Level programme in Lower Sixth.

A year of cultural immersion

We can also provide a year of cultural immersion and language development. This is an ideal way for students to improve their English and learn about British culture, especially as we are a school where the majority of students are always English-speaking.

Short term placements

We can also sometimes offer short one term (12 weeks) or half term placements (six weeks) for students aged 11 or 14, subject to space in the boarding house.
