“The organisation is managed and run by its owner who is supported by a small team of host families who are recruited in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (2023). All have signed contracts which include a job description and detailed expectations of their role. Thorough checks are made of families and the accommodation that they offer, and these are recorded and retained on file. Induction for homestay families is conducted personally by the Director before any students can visit their home. Comprehensive and appropriately written handbooks are available for homestays, parents and students. Clear details of a 24-hour emergency telephone contact are included. There is comprehensive advice on how to address issues such as bullying and online bullying that the students may face in school, alongside links to relevant policies. Organisational records and data are stored securely in password protected files and care is taken to ensure that consent is sought ahead of any information sharing.”
